Spirit’s Rest is a nonprofit  organization that provides housing in a homelike setting as opposed a medical facility, and around the clock compassionate care for hospice/palliative care patients and their families in Virginia. It was founded in 2025 by a former Hospice Chaplain who saw the need for alternatives to overcrowded, understaffed nursing homes and long-term care facilities. It is the ideal place for patients who no longer have a caregiver at home or whose loved ones are unable to provide care at home.

We feel honored to have the opportunity to welcome residents and their loved ones into our home and family and ensure they are treated with dignity, care, and respect by our skilled and passionate team every day.

Spirit’s Rest team provides assistance with:

-activities of daily living

-medication administration

-meals

-daily activities 

We work hand in hand with your hospice/palliative care agency on symptom control, medical care, emotional support, and spiritual care. We offer activities that focus on quality of life because every day matters.

There is a daily charge for care, room, and board of $250 per day at Spirit’s Rest. In some instances, financial assistance may be provided on a sliding scale thanks to the generosity of donors and community members.

Volunteer: We love volunteers! Our volunteers are invaluable, and our resident’s lives would not be as wonderful without them. Whatever your skills or interests there is always something to contribute. Our volunteers offer help with:
